Excellent boat, crew and diving. We had the best vacation of our lives and would repeat it in a heartbeat. Getting there was the hardest part, but perhaps that is the reason the coral reefs are still pristine and the marine life flourishing. The dive sites were stunning. My most memorable moment was watching a batfish being cleaned less than a meter away from us, and on another dive encountering a school of over 100 batfish. Finding the baby Wobbegong shark and perfectly posed pygmy seahorse, as well as various curious species of anenome clown fish were close seconds, thirds and fourths.Read Less

Hard to beat first liveaboard experience!
CREW: Most fantastic & friendly Indonesian boatcrew ever! Always ready to help out with anything and always with big smiles. Maya gave us some valuable and interesting information about Indonesia throughout the trip. Sam likes to play games or cards and is a quick learner, so bring some with you if you like to play. We’re sure this would make him very happy. The biggest thing we missed is a proper introduction or summary of the whole crew. We sort of had to go talk to everyone and ask for their names ourselves. It would be an improvement if the boat owners would properly introduce everyone or even better have an overview somewhere with pictures, jobs and names or something. This sounds a bit artificial maybe, but in our opinion it would close the gap between customers and crew much easier and quicker. Also the presence of the onboard photographer and bloggers was never really properly explained too us.
ACCOMMODATION: Cute little cabins with everything you need: comfortable bed, hot shower & toiletries, flushing toilet, airconditioning, view over the ocean. They make the bed every day and change towels every other day. The whole traditional boat is just stunning! The one thing we missed here was to see the boat with the sails up. We asked it a couple of times throughout the trip with the promise they would get them out on the last day. Sadly the weather didn’t allow it then, and because we were heading back to Sorong, we missed our chance to see the boat in its full glory.
FOOD: Very good quality and huge quantity of food. The chef is talented and very kind and humble. Big fat thumbs up!
DIVING: Amazing diving of course. Because of the early season timing of our trip the visibility was a little less than ideal a lot of the time (so definitely something to keep in mind when considering booking). A little about the choice of divesites. We got the feeling we’ve seen most of the famous divesites in Central and South Raja. But honestly we would have preferred diving some of the most memorable ones (like Shadowreef) multiple times in stead of having explored more different ones (that were sadly very average sometimes because of visibility). The guides were very good spotters and knowledgable. We are not super experienced divers, and almost the whole time we had 1 guide for the 2 of us and felt very safe. Equipment was of good quality and in excellent condition. But even though we gave our measurements through before the trip, there wasn’t a good fitting size BCD and fitting fins for one of us, but luckily managed with what they had on board. Our feedback for improvement here would be to maybe find an easy solution for the small ‘diving towel issue’. Everybody is supposed to make sure they remember their own towel and where they put it, but clearly this does not always work out. For example: mark a place on the drying line with room number.
NON-DIVING ACTIVITIES: We visited Arborek village, the Pianemo lookout and a lagoon (with a cave). You also have the chance to use the onboard kayaks or SUP a couple of times. Beforehand we informed the owner which non-diving activities we preferred (like the jellyfish lake & the birds of paradise). He told us everything would be possible and would be discussed on board, but actually this didn’t really happen. The activities we did were really nice, and we’re happy to have done them, but we felt a bit neglected. We felt that the activities throughout the trip were more in the light of promo material for Calico Jack (provided by a blogger couple with a drone & an onboard photographer).Read Less
